Hi! It is so crazy to me that we are already done with the first trimester of our Senior Year. It definitely has been far from normal, but it flew by way faster than I thought. After an entire trimester of working on my Genius Project, I am so happy with the progress that has been made. Our club has been so successful in the very short amount of time that we have created it. Chloe and I have continued to host our club meetings each week, with several members joining and listening to our presentations. Many of our members have told us personally how much they enjoy coming to our meetings each week. As well, we have hosted two in- person events and we hope to have another one in the month of December with a holiday theme. Right now, our goal for this month is to host a restaurant fundraiser. We want to do this so that we will be able to have access to funds to put on our future events, rather than having to pay out of pocket. The steps that we need to take to make this fundraiser happen is picking a restaurant, and providing them with all of the necessary information that is required to host a fundraiser there. Overall, I am so excited to see how our club continues to grow over the course of this year and after we graduate. I hope that this will leave a lasting impression on students and teach them how to live a healthier life.

Hi! It is so crazy to think that I am already a Senior working on my brand new Genius Project. A whole lot has changed with my project since my pitch during Junior year, so let me just get you all caught up.
It all started on a random Friday afternoon. I was scrolling through instagram seeing all sorts of new clubs being made by students. All of a sudden it hit me. I was going to create a Nutrition club for my Genius Project. I realized that Sage Creek has never had a health club that focused on creating a balanced lifestyle. Recently having found my passion for nutrition and wellness, I knew that this was the perfect idea for my project. After I got to thinking about it, I realized how much work it would be for just one person to create and maintain an entire brand new club, in such a short amount of time. I decided to reach out to one of my close friends who also has a clear passion for health and wellness, Chloe Blankenhorn. Ecstatic at the idea of creating the club, we began work right away, and the Health is Wealth Club was born. Health is Wealth Club is a new club this year at Sage Creek High School where students who share a passion for nutrition will meet to share recipes, learn about the benefits of certain foods, and have occasional get-togethers to make the recipes we learned about later that week. At this point in the trimester, Chloe and I have hosted four meetings, and one in-person event, which were all very successful. We are so grateful for all of the support we have received, and cannot wait for what's to come for the future of Health is Wealth Club! docs.google.com/presentation/d/1xF7-L0HJbb5BV00I565hXCJhg3j8QffKdPhM95Z5bOs/edit?usp=sharing Every September, our ASB Class will attend a leadership conference called CADA. This conference is held at the Del Mar Fairgrounds and is well-attended by all High School ASB students in San Diego County. At this conference, students get to attend different breakout sessions that are hosted by other students themselves. From sessions like “How to get more students at your football games” to “The truth behind leadership,” there is a wide variety of things you can learn about. At these sessions, ideas are shared, improvements are presented, and lessons are taught. For my Genius Project, I wanted to connect with the younger student-leaders in our community. I am going to host an ASB Conference at Sage Creek for all middle school and elementary school leadership classes in the Carlsbad District. At this conference, the students will be able to choose different breakout sessions to attend that are hosted by Sage Creek ASB students. This will benefit the students in a very positive way because they will be able to take the knowledge that is presented to them, and bring it back to their own school and create a stronger community.
